Most of the problems with "The Flash Reborn" stem from the disappointing way this episode follows up on Season 3's loose ends. Rather than take advantage of a Barry Allen-less status quo, this episode rushes to bring Barry back into the fold with no apparent consequences or lasting fallout. But taken as a fresh start for the series after a fairly tumultuous third season, this is a promising start. The Flash is shaping up to be more streamlined and more lighthearted this year, while finally featuring a villain who breaks the familiar mold.
