Yeah this was pretty bad. So ridiculously hollywood. Advent Children felt like Final Fantasy, but this did not. Dialogue comprised mostly of snappy one liners, constant action scenes with loads of explosions and fighting - I mean, it felt really lowest common denominator a lot of the time. Also, the story wasn't communicated very clearly, but I'll admit that it's pretty interesting on paper. The voice acting was very hit and miss. Aaron Paul's voice did NOT suit Nyx, nor did Lena Headey's voice suit Luna, and whoever was playing Libertus was pretty awful. I hate that they hired big name actors for the film versions of some of the characters - so shameless. Also the whole Audi product placement thing was just shameless and immersion-hurting. Finally, the music was just such generic, forgettable hollywood stuff. The best music was easily the pieces they used from the game.

So yeah, bit of a mess unfortunately. The anime has been pretty enjoyable though, and I'd say the game will be pretty good.

I only didnt like Libertus. Everyone else's voice was great IMO. Def not a 3/10 movie. I enjoyed it. Thought it was a little slow at first but it picked up. 6.5/7 out of 10 for me. Its much better when you watch it a second time.

I would of rated it slightly higher but other wise I agree with the content in this review. The movie is visually stunning alright but the story and characters are a badly written mess of epic proportions and no amount of pandering to fans, by including many classic elements, will change that. And if this is the best they could come up with for the movie then I fear for the story of the actual game... It's gonna be bad but at least it'll have the gameplay to fall on, if it's good that's it.

I liked the movie much better then advent children complete. 8/10 in my book.
