It depends on the movie for me. I've seen some and I'm like oh god I wish I hadn't paid to see that (Independance Day 2 being the most recent) but others it's a great experience. I never forget seeing the LoTR films for the first time in cinema, fantastic experience.
yes absolutely for the special effects and sound but the people in the audeince keeps me away from seeing too many in the theater. way too many fights about people using their phones, kicking the back of my seat and talking during the movie. not worth it.
