FGE - It’s no secret that January is where the garbage of cinema is dumped after all the Oscar contenders rush to get in for November and December. To add insult to injury, horror movies released in January are particularly awful.

The Boy, starring Lauren Cohan (The Walking Dead) as a live-in nanny/house-sitter named Greta, isn’t as dreadful as a January horror movie could be. It’s just that it’s ultimately very plain and hits all the very familiar notes and clichés.
