Doctor Who Spinoff Class Announced By The BBC

CB: BBC Three today announced a new Doctor Who spinoff series Class from author Patrick Ness. Class will be a young adult story that seeks to bring the feel of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Hunger Games to the Doctor Who universe.

“No one has documented the dark and exhilarating world of the teenager like Patrick Ness, and now we're bringing his brilliant story-telling into Doctor Who,” said Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat. “This is growing up in modern Britain - but with monsters!”

Teen Centric....are they kidding

The amount of good spin offs they could have done and they go for something set at school with teen actors.

In the past DW had a near balance for kids and adults but these days it feels the main show is leaning more towards kids so the spin off could have been something a little more serious.

Hell I would of loved to see a series featuring the 8th Doctor, an alternative timeline (since in DW there are parallel worlds which can't be crossed) one where he doesn't regenerate into John Hurt, the War Doctor.

Even one featuring the Doctors daughter Jenny.

I think Moffat needs to focus on his own writing before looking at helping other projects
