Deadline: Shannon Esper has booked a recurring role on the upcoming fourth season of Netflix/Lionsgate TV prison drama, Orange Is The New Black. She will play Alana Dwight, a new inmate whose meek ways make her impossible to hate. The series, whose third season debuted on June 12, was created by Jenji Kohan and based on the book by Piper Kerman. In addition to acting, Esper is lead singer/front-woman of indie pop band The Echo Friendly whose debut hit “Same Mistakes” was featured on an episode of Girls on HBO. Her other credits include Law & Order: Criminal Intent and feature Not Fade Away. Esper is repped by Lillian LaSalle at Sweet 180.
