Deadline:
A new day has come in Batman’s hometown – or at least it has been set up to dawn on the Season 1 finale of Gotham (1.7/6) last night. No spoilers but let’s just say deaths, destinies and discoveries galore characterized the end of the Bruno Heller created series’ first run on Monday.
No surprise that last night’s finale was down from the muscular September 22 premiere of the Batman backstory – 46% actually – but the show was up 13% from last week among adults 18-49 to hit its best demo result since early March. And Gotham is a show with very good DVR life, as its premiere and subsequent episodes revealed, so expect more math on this season ender. Speaking of math, compared to its November 24 midseason finale and its January 5 midseason return, last night’s Gotham S1 finale saw a 26% and a 32% decline. After Gotham’s season ender, The Following (1.1/3) had a dip of 8% from its April 27 show.
