not to mention that Rupert Sanders, a director with hardly any experience will be directing this movie. I always thought it was gonna be Steven Spielberg since he was the one that got the rights but this better be Rupert's breakthrough because Ghost in the Shell is amazing. The psychology behind it, the characters, etc. there's tons of material to make a big hit.
I watched Snow White & the Huntsman the other day and while the movie was average I think he has potential to make something greater.
As long as Scarlett is able to come up with a new act beside the Black Widow character she plays on every movie where she plays a tough female then all will be alright. I have faith. Or should I say, I want to have faith because Gits is one of my top fav anime ever beside Berserk and Zeta Gundam.
i have no problem about scarlett johansson being the lead instead of an asian actress because it would probably just be a marketing strategy based on scarlett's popularity as an actress, although getting an asian counterpart would also seem good in a certain point of view because it would be much closer to the source material, either way it really is not a concern for me since i will watch it anyway when it comes out.
