Some of that's going to be contentious, considering how Egyptian chronology still has a lot of work needed to done, but why not let an obvious fictionalization that takes artistic liberty of its source material be allowed into the greater cultural conversation there? It can be a great jumping off point for the Egyptian people to discuss these supposed events and bring to light what's been uncovered (thus far). Competing historians can bring their side of the story, the relevant data acquired, and so on and debate the validity of this historical account.
Sounds like greater progress than just banning it outright.
