Syfy will launch their new time-bending series 12 Monkeys on January 16, 2015. Based on the 1995 Terry Gilliam film of the same name, which was in turn based on classic surreal short film La Jetée, the series will follow Cole (Aaron Stanford) a time traveler from the post-apocalyptic future who appears in present day on a mission to locate and eradicate the source of a deadly plague that will eventually decimate the human race. He enlists Dr. Cassandra Railly (Amanda Schull) to help him track and stop the source of the virus before it can wreak global, catastrophic, destruction.
