Greta Gerwig to Star in ‘How I Met Your Mother’ Spinoff for CBS

The Wrap:

The “Frances Ha” star will write and produce the series

“Frances Ha” star Greta Gerwig has been cast as the lead in the pilot for the CBS spinoff “How I Met Your Dad,” which she will also produce and likely write for 20th Century Fox Television.

Carter Bays and Craig Thomas will executive produce with Emily Spivey and Pamela Fryman, the latter of whom will direct the pilot.

The series is a kindred spirit of “How I Met Your Mother” that tells a new story about new characters from a female point of view.

I know it was already established that she was going to act in the show but she will also write and produce the show also.

I personally think this show is a big mistake but, Just saying it right now before it gets started.

Since the show is NOT going to focus on the Mother's side of the story, the lead up to when she met Ted then there is really no point in this at all. It will cancelled after one series.

They ruined their chances with the Mothers side of the story when they did the "How your Mother met me" episode two weeks back.

They crammed every small reference in from the yellow umbrella, to the Uni class and even when Ted saw her ankles, in 30 minutes. What was the point of that they could of expanded on that in a brad new series.
