"For those of you who are football (soccer to my North American readers) fans, you will no doubt be aware of the saying ‘a game of two halves.’ It refers to the fact that while the first half may a bore-draw, the second could easily be a goal frenzy so you cannot always judge a match’s outcome from the offset. This absolutely applies to The Secret Life of Walter Mitty – Ben Stiller’s adaptation of the classic, James Thurber story. The film’s opening half had me yawning, rolling my eyes and mouthing the words “This is sh*t.” The second half had me utterly captivated as The Secret Life of Walter Mitty became the feel good hit of the winter."
