Not everyone watches the show so it's silly to bring in characters on the show then have them in films.
Seriously this show could of been amazing if it wasn't for the crappy actors. I still don't think anyone cares about them, maybe they shouldn't of went with unknown, bad actors.
The main characters of the show should of been Maria Hill and Agent Coulson like how in the X files you have Mulder and Scully.
It is a terrible show, and I love Joss. Sigh.
