I don't know if people really think, "great Irish mob movie," when Gone Baby Gone is brought up.

Doesn't count - only one of the characters is 1/2 oirish.

Two characters. Henry Hill (Ray Liotta) and Jimmy Conway (Robert De Niro). That's why only Tommy DeVito (Joe Pesci) was to become a made man, and why Jimmy was so excited because since he couldn't get made, and Henry couldn't get made, Tommy was the next best thing.

Good call, forgot about that. Still, I'm not sure if it would quality as an irish gangster film seeing as how the movie is based on the italian mob. Jimmy and Henry could be any other nationality and it would serve the story all the same.
