As a fan of the book, I couldn’t get past the drastic changes that they made to characters and scenes including motivations and impact. The film seems to rush along from scene to scene without ever letting the plot develop and worse, Ethan and Lena romance develop.
To me its a case of pandering to the studio rather than the fans. The book was a hit for a reason, I do not see why people have to meddle and say, sure it was good but my way will be better.
