Imitation they say is the sincerest form of flattery. That concept can be applied to film remakes and may sound great on paper but it rarely seems to work out when the finished product is finally projected onto theater screens. Red Dawn is the latest in a rather long list of 80s films that are being updated for future audiences to enjoy. As with most remakes the same two questions are always asked… 1. Was this really necessary? 2. How does this stand up to the original? This review may answer a few of those questions.
