5 Directors Who Could Helm The Next James Bond Film

The Playlist:
Even by the standards of the second most successful franchise in cinema history, "Skyfall" is doing extraordinarily well. The 23rd James Bond film, which has picked up some of the best reviews in the history of the franchise, has topped off an amazing couple of weeks at the box office with a $90 million opening weekend in the U.S., bringing it to over $500 million worldwide in only 17 days. By next weekend, it will easily have overtaken "Casino Royale" to be the franchise's top worldwide grosser, and could be on course to be the first billion-dollar Bond.

It's always impossible to predict where anyone will be when the movie gets put together but it would be great if the same people that worked on Skyfall would do the next one. Sam Mendez did an awesome job directing and all the special effects and CGI and all that was involved was great. I'm looking for an even better Bond next time.

... but regardless of who the new director will be, I do hope the company will take a really close look on how the actionscenes are filmed and edited.

The shaky-cam and MTV-editing in Quantum of Solace completely ruined that movie for me. I have no idea why that even got the green light to be released in that state. It's ridiculous.

Amazing that this movie almost never happened.

I know...they stopped production so suddenly when they ran out of money at one point and didn't think they were going to be able to finish it. It really was touch and go for a while.

I still never understood how MGM had no money when they had Bond and LOTR under their name.
