I hope not. You don't just randomly introduce Venom, and then to go and create an entire new back story for him...
Personally i think Sony is best running with the new Venom comics. Bring Flash Thompson and make his Venom. The could "skip" a few years, or end ASM with them graduating and Flash going into the army. Then when making Venom, take the same actor, and show him getting hurt and Venom being used to bring him back.
I think that Venom makes for better stories that stand on their own since he is constantly fighting it. Its a lot better than simply making a villain movie.
Venom has enough behind him to be his own movie with spiderman making an appearance if needed.
Please let this just be a joke. It's bad enough that guy who was in chronicle is in the new spiderman series. But now they want to make him the new venom. Eddie was always the original venom and it should stay that way. Making Harry Venom is like making aunt May the new Black Cat lol
I agree. Venom has enough experience for his own movie. Spiderman should be in Venom's place with the movie based on Venom's point of veiw.
Hopefully it's not portrayed by a guy like Eric Forman from that 70's show again. How do you get a bad ass character like that and typecast such a wiener to act it out. I could have accepted it if the dad Red would have been there, slapped him around a lil bit and called him a dumbass and maybe venom could have destroyed red. That would have been the only way I could have enjoyed it.
Hope that they come up with a better story and make it a bigger arc not just a side story.
