Joe Johnston Doesn't Rule Out Directing 'Star Wars'

Huffington Post

In the never-ending online debate to find a new "Star Wars" director, a name that has been surprisingly muted -- at least comparatively -- is Joe Johnston. (The "Captain America: The First Avenger" director did receive an impassioned show of support from Movies.com editor Erik Davis this week.) I didn't even realize this guy was so influential on the Star Wars Universe's look and feel. This just seems like a great fit. I loved what he did with Captain America.

I'm worried. Capt. America was the only Avengers flick I really didn't care for, which he directed. And Jurassic Park III kinda sucked...

How can you even say that dude? Captain America captured the essence of the character and the time in which he was created. I thought it was probably the movie that had the most depth for the characters.

Didn't care for that montage that Johnston used to help establish the character of Cap. Would have much preferred SEEING Cap. actually become Cap.

johnston is a good director but in directing star wars there are at least 8 more directors that could capture the essence of star wars a lot better.
