Michael Bay Manages to Kill My Interest in the New Ninja Turtles Film

From TMP:

Ninja Turtles fans all over have had a lot to be excited about lately. At long last progress was being made on the long-gestating live action continuation of the franchise. With a director set and even a release date given, I found myself nearly over the top with enthusiasm. Yet, Michael Bay has managed to kill all of my interest in this movie with a few short sentences, and revealing a massive change to the Turtles' origins.

Can't help but to say this totally makes me angry. To be honest I don't know what is more stupid, this or the director that never play Uncharted and said his movie would take the "family interaction" into account.

Like the guy says in the comments.. this may be actually more true to the original comic origins

http://tmnt.wikia.com/wiki/...

But even if its not, i do have a lot of fond memories about the turtles but what i remember most is not where the came from but who they are.

None of the movies really spent time on the origins.
And the true turtles from the beginning were dark and violent and was then changed to be more children oriented when it went mainstream. Original followers of the comics were disappointed when this happened but it made a series that you loved.

This may disappoint you but it may create a series that a new generation may be able to get behind.

Even with a origins that you may not like the turtles may still be a great movie if it focuses on what made it great. The characters.

The COMPANY is run by aliens, but the Turtles themselves aren't Aliens. That's a very big difference and a very big change.

I loved the original comics and how they were darker and edgier. I hope the movie is good and will probably still see it, but it won't be the same Turtles.

I really dont find that's much of a change.

What if he meant that whatever was leaked into the sewer was a foreign alien substance and it created the turtles and that made them "from an alien race"

That is what i meant. I really dont expect to be seeing a mothership drop some baby turtles off in the park in which case... yes that is a pretty big change.

Well regardless... heres hoping for a good movie.

But the uncharted one really pisses me off tho. Im glad that shit got squashed.

Across 4 games there was never one instance where Drake even mentioned his family. That was pure idiocy.

aliens?

ALIENS?

i guess if they're aliens they'll have tech that allows more stuff to blow up right?

that's what you were thinking isn't mike?

Exploding shurikens and boom-stick nunchaku were one of the first things to come to my mind when I hear Bay was directing.

DarkBlood4432d ago

its not like donatello character couldnt have come up with those inventions on thier own lol

Soldierone4431d ago

Yeah and next on the list is a "super model" that can't act being cast as April lol

frelyler4432d ago (Edited 4432d ago )

Then it's not a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. What crap. Seriously, the whole explanation of what they are is in the title. It doesn't need any more back story, we all know it and love it. Childhood=0 Michael Bay=1

of course it has to have explosions that way he can copy scenes from transformers which copy scenes from the island.
