End of Watch Review | Bone-idle

Bone-idle.ie writes "End of Watch is probably the most stripped to basics buddy cop movie you’ll ever see. Two partners, as close as brothers, are a little too rebellious within the force. They get the job done, and they do it well, so they have a little leeway with the higher powers. They have incredibly beautiful and loyal partners, they swear and joke around a lot, and play practical jokes on the more uptight cops. They are rock stars of the jurisdiction world. However, despite the incredibly generic story, End of Watch deserves your attention because it is a blueprint for how to get the buddy cop movie right!"

Great movie! Chemistry between Gyllenhal and Pena was crazy good.

ABizzel14180d ago (Edited 4180d ago )

Agreed Gyllenhal and Pena were great in this. Unfortunately the rest of the cast were let downs, especially the main 4 cartel who felt completely detached from the entire movie. They just didn't fit, they seemed like they belonged in one of those movies no one ever sees like "Strippers and Zombie Ninjas in space".

Maybe not that bad, but it was truly that noticeable. However Gyllenhal and Pena carry this movie, and it's an emotionally gripping story about two great friends dealing with the dangers of being police in a heavily crime ridden area.
