Given that "Heat" is my all-time favorite movie and that Mann is one of my favorite directors, I watched "L.A. Takedown" just for the hell of it once...absolutely hysterical. The coffee shop scene between Hanna and McCauley (the latter of whom was originally named "McLaren" in L.A. Takedown) was so cheesy and just downright laughable. It's amazing what terrific acting and a bigger budget can do for a well-written script.
