Pursuing A Dream

So I am currently a film student with a passion for writing screenplays. I love every aspect of it, especially when on paper you can be as big and vibrant as you want as you don't need to worry about budgets or anything like that at an early age.

The only issue? It's a lot harder to get succesful as a writer thank to doors being close and not being able to impress a lot of people at festivals. That is until recent opportunities opened up and now a massive one has opened up. Of course the Amazon Studios opening is making headlines everywhere and like I said I am doing my best to enter through this door.

Well I have a script I have been trying to sell for a while, but I can't even get agents or anyone to look at it. The people that do love it and see the potential. So this is the shot to get the pros to see what I've done.

Any help is much appreciated.

If you want to read the script, support me, and help me reach my goal. You can check it out on the Amazon site!

Nice work. I hope you succeed in your dreams.
Writing is not my strength but I would like to pass along this.
Try to read a lot that is one way you can improve your own writing.
There many great writers here like Twain, Faulkner and Bellow.

It's not an easy dream to chase...let me tell you. But tenacity and the willingness to learn and compromise will get you there. I love what I do in editing and wouldn't ever change it.

Hey Dark, You're a professional in Hollywierd movies or do you do your own thing? Color me green with envy if you do either.

Keep up the good fight Soldier. I love the screenwriting craft as well and have even been plugging away at a few different ideas. I've had my work read many moons ago by professionals but it never really got too far aside from a few conference calls.

Enter your work into all the screen writing contests you find. There are many opportunities out there but be sure to protect yourself. Become a member of the WGA and CWG and register the screenplay before you start sending it out. Don't get discouraged sir.

A little of both actually. I do freelance editing work, and every now and again I get contacted by the 'big boys' to do small projects for them (like a web featurette for Disney on their Prince of Persia movie). Mostly though I stick to myself and try to have fun with it. I have a few things on the backburner right now, but have recently acquired funding for a webseries I wrote...meaning I'll start shooting in February.
