An all new short film from Dan Trachtenberg is an adaptation of the best-selling video game, Portal...and it's awesome. Better than most full-length attempts at video game movies, this short film will have you pining for more.
I honestly think that this short kind of sucks. Doesn't make me engaged in the material. This is coming from a non Portal fan. Never played a game and now I don't want to.
Hey check out the "X" in the top right hand corner of your screen, then click on notepad. It'll bring you to the internet where people actually give a shit about your horrible "I'm my own cool" comments. Glad to help, douchebigalo.
People, don't review the short by the video game. Rate it by the short film itself. With that said, this short is awesome, someone should make this into a feature film.
Absolutly! I couldn't agree more! 100% right you are, sir! Excellent design that requires you to use your head in a first person puzzle game; that truly is crap.
*Psst* Good thing you and I are keepers of the traditional no thinking shooter. I mean, who wants intelligence AND fun?
I liked the idea behind it, but the film itself has MANY flaws that I would hope get ironed out if there ever were to be a Portal movie.
Like it never explained anything, and it spent a good majority of it simply for her thinking. Not bad, but it needed her to try more attempts or something. The visuals were awesome and the exploration was cool, but none of it was expanded upon. I mean the ending would of been an absolutely awesome climax. The trick is you could still do it again with the ending. Make her see her goal and the "escape" and spend the whole time trying to get it, then bam its fake.
It was a good short film. I think the Call of Duty one might edge it though. I'm interested to see someone do a Resistance one.
I really hate the requirement for North American movies to explain everything. Particularly in a short, it's just not always necessary, particularly when the character herself doesn't seem to know what's going on or why she's there. It's a character in strange circumstances experiencing a very understandable confusion and want to escape. Why do we need to know the exact history of the building, the soldiers, the reason for her being trapped? People who have played the games will know -- she's being tested. I think even most people who don't know the game will pick that up.
Full movie now!

Doesn't interest me in the least. i thought Portal was a crap game.
Portal is overrated. Fun, but its given way too much credit.
