The Voice Of TV: Last year the judge’s panel on Fox’s hit summer show, So You Think You Can Dance was a little bit quieter with resident loudmouth Mary Murphy taking a break for professional and personal reasons. While I loved temporary replacement, Mia Michaels – I feel like something was missing without the ‘Hot Tamale Train,’ the boisterous laugh, and the banter back and forth between Murphy and Nigel Lythgoe. After a jam-packed year off, Murphy is back for the 8th season of So You Think You Can Dance, and I got the opportunity to take part in a conference call with her to discuss how she’s feeling after a scary brush with thyroid cancer (she’s in remission!), what we can expect from judges this year, and what to look forward ton on the dance floor.
