For every cool moment in Season One of Marvel's Iron Fist there were more lame ones that undercut them; for every step forward it took, two steps back followed. The generic and overlong – yes, every Marvel-Netflix series goes on a few episodes too many – Iron Fist suffered from a poorly drawn hero, mundane villains, pacing issues, some truly bad dialogue at times, a largely bland aesthetic, and too many unconvincing fight scenes for a show devoted to martial arts.
