Studios cannot subsist on Marvel movies alone, 21st Century Fox co-COO James Murdoch told investors Monday at the JPMorgan Global Technology, Media and Telecom Conference.
WGTC: “Following Disney's recent acquisition of 21st Century Fox, legendary director Ridley Scott says he'd like the House of Mouse to continue his iconic series.”
Well thats not going to happen unless its watered down PG-13 trash....Disney has already stated out loud in front of people who have hearing, they would love to continue franchises like Alien and Predator but they will NOT be in their current R rated form....
Fox has revealed their plans for Alien Day and it looks like a nice mix.
Disney finally owns all the non-news parts of 21st Century Fox. The $71.3 billion deal finally passed the final regulatory hurdles this week.
It's just too difficult for others to compete with Marvel now. They had something going with the X-men/Wolverine films (to an extent), but it just wasn't enough for them to carry and expand. Especially with the slate of films scheduled from Mavel and DC

They sure as heck beat Sony. Don't be too hard on yourselves, Fox. You had Days of Future Past last year and this coming year will give us Age of Apocalypse.
I think he's alluding to the fact that they have 3 Xmen related movies coming out next year. I agree with him, this superhero arms race is ridiculous. Maybe in another 10 years well get something like a Mad Max Fury Road again.
