Fox Orders Rob Lowe Comedy ‘The Grinder’ To Pilot

Variety:
Fox has greenlit comedy pilot “The Grinder,” starring Rob Lowe, Variety has learned.

The single-cam laffer will be directed by “New Girl’s” Jake Kasdan, who will also serve as an exec producer with pilot scribes Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel, plus Nicholas Stoller (“Sex Tape”) and Lowe who has been cast as beloved TV lawyer Dean Sanderson, also known as “The Grinder.”

The series finds Sanderson (Lowe) at a crossroads in life, after his long-running hit show comes to an end. He decides to move back to his small hometown, under the impression that his experience as a television personality has prepped him to take over his family’s law firm.
