Homeland focuses on Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes). Carrie is a C.I.A office who is moved to the counterterrorism division after an unauthorized operation in Iraq. She is loved as a daughter by her mentor Saul Berenson and barely tolerated by her boss David Estes (she had an extramarital affair with him). Carrie is also bipolar no one but her sister (who treats her) is aware of it. When Carrie was in Iraq, she was told by a source that there is an American prisoner of war that has been turned by al-Queda. This becomes the focus of Homeland.
