I have been waiting for this to air with nearly uncontainable excitement now ever since I watched the finale of season 2, and I was not disappointed. I found every scene to be enthralling and entertaining. However, although this did not bother me, I can imagine some people thinking that the episode moved a bit slowly.
The episode begins with Samwell Tarly (John Bradley) running away from some mysterious enemy. After a short while he comes upon one of his dead Night’s Watch brother’s. Then, Lord Commander Mormont (James Cosmo) catches up and asks him if he sent the ravens. Sam didn’t, and Mormont isn’t happen. He then gives a speech to the rest of the brother’s informing them that they need to get back to the Wall, to work the others of the grave danger that is approaching. The acting in this scene, as well as this storyline in general, is very good.
