Independence Day 3D No Longer Set For 2013, Star Wars Revenge Of The Sith 3D Moves Up A Week

CB: Everyone on the planet has been talking about Star Wars ever since Disney bought Lucasfilm and announced that they were developing a new trilogy of films, but those aren't the only titles in the franchise arriving soon in a theater near you. Following the release of Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace earlier this year, 20th Century Fox is still in the process of rolling out the prequels in 3D and plan to double dip next year. Episode II Attack of the Clones 3D is still scheduled for September 20, 2013 but now they've changed up their schedule a bit for the third movie. (Cinema, Independence Day 3D, Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith)

I wonder why they cancelled the project. There is also news of a sequel, but I'm really skeptical of one so long after the original. I think the original one is a movie that really stands on its own and I'm not entirely sure if a sequel would really do it any justice.
