Friday’s total moviegoing was a scorching $80M headed to $220M through Sunday (+12% from last year) and a new 3-day weekend record for a Fourth Of July holiday. Depp's looks and actions are too similar to his previous role as Captain Jack Sparrow. I never really felt motivated to go to the theater and watch him do the same thing over again in another movie. It seems like a good rental though.
