This show is worse than a crime.
Financially? I think that's a foregone conclusion at this point; comic book movies are so en vogue right now that even Ant-Man is poised to make more money than the entire Blade trilogy.
From a quality standpoint? The jury's still out, and in all fairness, I'd say the same about anybody, as I'm not the type to make silly, lofty guarantees about movies that I haven't seen yet (OMG this movie *WILL* be so awesome!!!!). Still, there's something to be...
Whatever it would've been, it couldn't have been any worse than Man of Steel.
Confirmed fake.
They should HAVE cancelled Man of Steel in the first place for being as bad as it was.
As long as Snyder is involved with these movies, I have little to no faith in them. Suicide Squad is the silver lining.
I certainly hope not; it was awful.
Eh, I don't like this idea. Peter didn't even have a good supporting cast in his high school days; the best drama and character interactions came when he was in his college years anyway.
Oh well, after 10 movies (most of which are at least good) I trust Feige's vision and judgment, so at the very least, I'll give it a chance.
I wouldn't call the last two 'glaring' omissions, but they are good movies. Just not among my favorites.
I don't understand how John Wick is considered underrated. That movie received acclaim across the board.
Yeah, this list is kinda silly without both of those.
None of these movies are as highly anticipated as Star Wars or Avengers. None of them.
The issue (and key difference) here is continuity though. You can't just assume that since the audience is familiar with the character, that he will automatically gel with the story. If that's the case, then we might as well throw Sherlock Holmes into the next Avengers movie. Mark Ruffalo was just a recast, but in this case, we're talking about introducing a character that, as of right now, doesn't exist in this universe.
I think that if this Marvel deal g...
Hey, I'm all for that. I myself happen to enjoy many of these stars' action yarns from the 80s and 90s, but these movies are just awful irrespective of niche and intent.
There's a right way to do mindless fun (Avengers, The Raid) and there's a wrong way to do it (White House Down, these movies).
Does any1 really want an Expendables 4? These movies are awful.
They ought to push it back to 2117. I'm not looking forward to a sequel to that awful movie in this lifetime.
Whaaaaaaaaaat? Snyder is racist? Citation/proof?
Looks like this franchise is dead in the water now. To this day, Snyder's only good film has been his first one, and presumably because he was kept on a short leash. Ever since, studios and producers have more or less let him run amok, and run everything else he's touched into the ground.
Sad, because there's so much potential for these characters to shine, but not with Zack Snyder driving the bus. Baffling how WB could ever think to entrust this guy with adapt...
Agreed. He hardly had any character at all in MoS; his acting was limited to stares and grunts for the most part. Nearly every time he shared the screen with another character, however minor, he was upstaged, largely relegated to being little more than a sounding board for their preaching and exposition.
I want to see a Superman with some personality, not a cardboard cutout with a cape. BvS could be good, but they're facing a very steep uphill battle with how they'...
Well, they've succeeded in starting off on the wrong foot with MoS, that much is certain. All of those gimmicks and plans do indeed sound nice, but then again, that's only if they're executed well. WB putting all of their trust in Snyder doesn't exactly give me much confidence that they can execute their concepts and plans properly. The casting decisions up to now have been solid, including the rumors, but a solid cast couldn't save MoS either, so that doesn't make ...
Cavill shouldn't be on this list. The guy hardly said a word or did anything with his character; damn near an hour into the film, he puts on the iconic costume and the most interaction he had with anyone at that point was the thug in the bar. His performance was too passive to be considered a breakout. He doesn't embody the role in the same way other actors like Bale, Downey, Jackman, and several others did their heroes.
I get that some people liked the film, but...
Of course they were. We should all know how this works by now. We'll see for ourselves by the weekend.
