You have to admire the tenacity of people who rave and cry wolf when a movie gets the punishingly low score of 87%.
Kinda reminds me of the fanboy uproar when Final Fantasy 13 was awarded 39/40 by Fanmitsu (a japanese gaming Magazine).
1 point short of 40? WORST GAME EVAR!
Mild Retraction: It's a 3D release, putting 3D in the title could have helped.
I, Robot has been on blu-ray for over 4 years, what's the big deal?
Campness isn't a problem in appropriate contexts. Spider-Man is a much more colourful hero than Batman, Avengers was the same in tone and campiness. Raimi also has 10 times more energy than most directors in this field, give him his due.
Brave review score. I must agree on the Lizard's lipsynching, his puckered up expression did him no favours.
The next John Carter?
The whole DC vs Marvel feuding this summer is getting lame, it's sadly symptomatic of something Gene Siskel predicted many years ago, that the box office was going to become a derby or a sports venue. It's quite telling when liking Avengers is automatically correlated with being a Marvel supporter, much like a football team mentality.
This revelation seems like a bit of non-event at this point.
No, because the batman movie is designed to pump your blood towards your brain you see.
Wouldn't this technically be Friday Night Lights 2 though, as the series is an offshoot of the movie?
Fairly petty on Jackson's part, the man has taken a beating from critics before on the Star Wars prequels so one critic here is hardly worth moaning about.
Sounds a lot like the origin of the Hulk in the Ang Lee movie, wherein the gamma radiation mutated existing cells placed during infancy by Banner's dad.
I don't have a problem with this change, it does seem hackneyed at this point though.
Marvel's franchising is getting out of hand. After all this build up for the Avengers, Marvel pulls the rug out again with yet another plug for movie we're ostensibly supposed to be hyped for, which in itself will be a plug for more movies.
Still looks pretty good. Though I hope the melting helmet CG is a rough version as it's not entirely convincing, a shame as it's a uniquely horrific idea for this movie.
Battle Angel may just be my number 1 unmade movie right now. lets hope it doesn't go the way of Kubrick's Napolean.
Getting 'behind something' isn't the only bad thing Platinum Dunes have in mind for this for this horror franchise (or any others for that matter). Nudge nudge.
The Hunger Games is no more of a rip off of Battle Royale then Star Wars is a rip off of Flash Gordon.
Even Battle Royale isn't the first story of kids being thrust into certain death (alternative versions of Theseus and the Minotaur explore this).
Excellent article.
"I could be the walrus".
Prometheus sequel? I wonder how long they'll be riding that scooter?
I guess that intern at Fox misplaced the box office stats.
