Closer to A New Hope I'd wager. Especially considering the time line. Ep IV main focus was the Rebel scum vs the Empire. The Jedi didn't become the focus until Empire Strikes Back.

The fact that Keaton is as old as he is and goes toe to toe with Superman makes him even more badass!! I so wish he got Batman instead of Affleck.

The reason I can't buy this movie because I can't get over the fact that I'll be seeing Superman getting his butt whooped by Ben Affleck. He's not good enough to make me believe he's anyone other than Ben Affleck.
Affleck won for his directing. And I have to say that is where his talent lies. Acting... He tries but the best he can accomplish is passable. Argo? He was playing Ben Affleck with long hair and beard.

I agree. I can't imagine how those kids felt when that head came crashing down on them in the original JP. That was prolly genuine terror and not acting.
I'm not kidding when I say my girlfriend damn near broke up with me when I said I liked the prequels. Apparently to some people it's more than just a movie. I personally, love Star Wars as a whole. Oh well, I guess I'm gonna have to hide the blu ray version of the prequels when this comes out. hehehe. I can't wait to see Phantom Menace and Revenge of the Sith on HD with the sound cranked up.
I know. Every movie that's supposed to be fun gets knocked for some reason. Why? Cuz it's not artistic? Art is overrated. At least there are still a few people in this world that know what the purpose of movies are and how they are supposed to be watched.

I think there are somethings you can't win, and using a puppet, miniatures, cutaways, stop motion, and cartoons can be just as fake as bad CGI. Does anyone remember the cartoon Joker falling to his death in 89 Batman? It's all about what you allow your mind to accept. Those animatronics look just as fake to me as CGI. Sure they are there, but it's obviously not real at the same time. I allow...

I absolutely loved this movie!!! It felt like a good, old fashioned, adventure movie. I dunno if it's just my bias towards Captain America, but this definitely ranks among the best comic book movies I've seen.
He's my favorite as well. A lot has to do with Dick Donner's Superman. I will be disappointed as all hell if they don't sample John Williams musical score. That theme is as synonymous with Superman as the Bond theme is to James Bond. It doesn't matter who is directing it, they need it. Without it, something will be missing.
I thought Superman should have been a summer movie as well. I wonder if it really is cuz of the saturated winter movie season, or maybe there is just that much work to be done. I am worried that the suit will be CGI like Green Lantern. I understand the need for the cape to be animated at times, but not the suit.
Oh man that sucks. I wonder how they got $8 as an average price, cuz it sure as hell doesn't seem so average.
2011 ticket prices are around $8? Where the hell is this place. Here in LA it's about $13, and that isn't in 3D.
When they say tech based, they should do more of a fabric to resist high speed rather than armor.
