Warrior is a superbly acted and emotional film about manhood, family and never submitting to life’s beat downs.
There are certain movies which can make the hardest of hard man shed a tear. Rocky, Field of Dreams, Rudy…the list goes on yet the themes are the same. It’s about stepping up, duking it out and never giving up on what is important in life.
China’s Alibaba Pictures Group has signed Harry Potter producer David Heyman to produce Warriors, a live-action film based on the hit series of children and young adult novels.
Examiner.com writes: Some films are made to evoke a certain emotion from its audience, like it is pointing directly at your soul and telling you to feel either distraught, excitement, sadness, happiness or compassion. Most films that attempt to do that often times come off as highly manipulative, putting their characters into situations that are clearly manufactured to elicit a particular feeling at a particular moment. The successful ones however are able to tap into those emotions without it ever feeling forced, it lulls you in with real characters facing real world problems that we all deal with and let us go on a two hour journey with them. "Warrior" is the first film in decades to bring forth all of those emotions and do it in a way that feels completely natural, fresh and honest.
This movie is heartwrenching. It really touches you at the core even if you've never had family issues like this movie is showing, I still think anyone watching will feel some of what this movie is trying to relay to their audience. Great performaces by each one of the main cast members but especially by Nick Nolte. I was also in awe of the two brothers...they were just unbelievable.

When it comes to Netflix Streaming it really feels like it’s feast or famine. Some months are great, others not so much. For August I’m leaning towards the latter, which is partially why this Netflix post is coming so late in the month. For August there are a couple decent new releases but they’re a little more art house than what most people are interested in. Otherwise there are some decent horror films (Halloween is just around the corner), 80s fans will find a couple entertaining one offs, Taco Bell is well represented in the 90s, and a couple new shows found their way into the stream. Overall its not a great month but who knows… maybe September will be gangbusters.
