It's movies released in the UK in 2015 (the website is UK-based), hence their inclusion!
Same here!
Would personally have put Sunshine and Shallow Grave a lot higher.
Ha ha! No worries. Happens to the best of us!
Cool to hear even more about the Mad Max 2 one anyway. Just crazy!
The fourth one is a Jackie Chan stunt, and the Mad Max 2 one is in there exactly as described!
Not sure how you missed that?
Fixed now.
Unable to add Clueless tag currently, just so you know! Get error message when I try to do so.
Fair enough! Personally, I'd say Airplane! is up there as one of the best comedies ever made, but I guess there are plenty of others that could have made the cut.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Some Like It Hot...
The writer intended it to be a wide mix of genres, and contemporary cult flicks as well as established classics (some of the modern movies, like Fish Tank or We Are The Best, aren't that well known).
Surely an aspiring filmmaker needs a grounding in a variety of techniques and forms? If you're looking to make comedy movies, for example, Airplane! is likely to be miles more helpful than Rear Window and Taxi Driver.
Funnily enough, that's something I'd never even realised until today, when Movie Bob posted this excellent analysis of the film:

It's still America saving the day, obviously, but the speech is at least actually trying to say more about world unity than just 'hey, isn't the US absolutely awesome?'
Love both those movies too. They're certainly right up there - though I think BB just has lots more depth and complexity!
I'd be interested to know why you think their approach works better?
"Interstellar is only interested in asking questions that it already has the answers to."
That's very well put.
It just seems to lack all the charm and spirit of the original in favour of something a bit more mean-spirited. Maybe it's just me, but it looks like a pretty standard modern comedy with the 'Vacation' label stamped on it.
At least Chevy Chase is making a cameo though!
Yeah. The list did need some John Carpenter I reckon!
Originally from the US, apparently, though he moved to Oz as a teen:

Ha ha ha.
I'd never seen the Lawnmower scene before. That's hilarious.
Yep. Michael Sheen was great in that too.
So many gloriously mad ones to choose from...
Good call! Never thought about Ned breaking an oath - but given what I suspect about the ToJ, that could actually make sense. Maybe a reference to the Umbers too? Could also related to Jaime. Lots of possibilities.
