They were both fantastic movies for very different reasons. Personally, I preferred the Avengers for one reason: it was fun. I don't know about you, but I see a lot of movies that are able to achieve serious and dramatic. There are far fewer that successfully achieve being a fun movie experience. It's why I love Star Wars (particularly the original) and Indiana Jones.
Avengers doesn't take itself too seriously. It's witty, fun, and full of action that makes yo...
As much as I dislike Ant-Man, I love Wasp, and she kind of comes with the Ant Man package.
Not saying either will translate to the big screen, or even if Wasp is enough to make me see it. But if they pick a good Wasp (if she's even in it) and the trailers look good enough, I may go see it.
No Wasp, no deal though.
Roger Moore is completely underrated as a Bond actor. I like Daniel Craig's Bond movies, and him as an actor, but you just can't beat Roger Moore's "classic" Bond.
From my understanding, that actually seems to be the point. It seems that they're identity isn't important, which is kind of worrying.
I actually kind of liked it. It's definitely a bit childish, but I think the storytelling will mature. There's a lot of set-up required in the first couple episodes, and since they side-stepped the origin story, there really wasn't a lot of room for development. Not to mention they also introduced SHIELD, and explained that.
I started watching Spectacular right before it was cancelled. I've watched the first season, but not the second yet. It's pretty good...
I couldn't care less about Ant Man himself, but since I love the character of Wasp (and she kind of comes with the Ant Man package), I wouldn't mind seeing Ant Man make it to the big screen. Ant Man and Wasp in the Avengers 2 would be awesome.
However, as superheroes go, they're really not very believable in the "serious" world of the current movies. I doubt the movie would be very popular if it gets made, unfortunately.
What? I'm confused. Why would anyone want either of these movies to fail (they won't)? They're both going to be awesome. I don't know which one will be more awesome and I honestly don't care. I'm going to see both, and I'm super excited for them. Heck, I've got high hopes for Spiderman, too.
I can't believe people are childish enough to pick a "side". Since when can you only see one?
Yeah, because burn victims usually have eyebrows...
And personally, and I know this will piss you off, I have higher regard for ROTJ than ESB. I don't hate ESB, but it's my least favorite of the OT. That said, the Battle of Hoth is awesome.
So does Clark Kent wear "contact lenses" now? Where in the world are his glasses? I'm hoping they fell off and this is supposed to be a suspenseful scene where he's worried people might recognize him.
I love the concept of planet if the apes, especially the original, but I never saw a movie in the series that I liked. But the concept and the trailers for this one got me to go see it and I loved it.
This film is no way this film is a 5.
Wow. Let's assign the anti-Disney, anti-childrens' films critic to the Winnie the Pooh movie. Great idea.
Green Lantern really was pretty good. The problem is: it's green lantern. Most people don't know anything about him, and those who do might not have great impressions of him from other media. If they want to make more money, they have to make a good movie AND make some really awesome trailers. Make the public think it's going to be awesome and then deliver on that.
Looks good. I have high hopes for this one. I've been hearing about it since before the release of Revenge of the Sith. It's interesting that Lucas decided to give up the directing reigns, but I think it was probably the right choice.
Looking forward to seeing it in January.
The storm is coming to Gotham? That was really cheesy. It looks legit, but I hope not. Surely they can come up with something a little better. Maybe even include some footage or an image of Bane.
I went in expecting it to be decent but not great, it exceeded my expectations by far. I saw it in 3D, so I couldn't really tell the quality of the CGI, but rest of the movie was great. Granted I've never been much of a green lantern fan, so I don't know much about the universe, but I walked away hoping the next superman movie is more like that and less like Returns.
It can hold it's own against the majority of comic book movies, in my opinion.
Nice prizes. I'm not sure which of the two boxsets I would pick. On the one hand, I have the regular LOTR movies on DVD. But they're fullscreen, so they don't even upscale well. So there's plenty of incentive there. On the other hand, I haven't seen anything past Superman 2, and I'm really interested in those behind the scenes docs.
Decisions, decisions.
I really hope they have the original versions of the OT. I don't own those yet and would LOVE to have them. I also hope there's some 'special' tweaks thrown in on the prequels, mainly a digital Yoda in Episode I. It would be nice if they corrected some of the weird Special Edition stuff too, like the 50 Wedge X-wings in A New Hope.
But please don't go too crazy with changes, we don't want Star Wars turning into Blade Runner.
I don't think Harry was meant to be the hobgoblin, rather, he was meant to be exactly what he was, his father's replacement. I'm not entirely certain how large an arc it was, but I'm pretty sure the same thing happened in the comics. Granted, I don't think it was with all the new high-tech gadgets and complete makeover, but it did happen.
But yes, I'd like to see the Hobgoblin this time around. And if they do have the Kingpin, I hope they bring back Mi...
As a point of clarification, do comments on blogs (such as this one) count as "comments", or are "comments" restricted to comments on contributions?
Personally, I only understood about 70% of his dialogue. I don't have any serious hearing problems (though listening to loud(ish) music has definitely affected my ears over the years).
Part of that, I think, had to do with the speaker balancing in the theater I saw it in. It was an AMC, not a cheap theater, but not particularly high-end either. It seemed to me that the bass was boosted quite a bit and the speakers were also pretty sibilant (Ssssnakessss). This muffled a l...
