@blue_cheese, the Star Wars cartoons over the years have had potential but never went in any cool direction at all ( a limitation of the PG, PG-13 lockdown ) to make the feel of the universe cool.
If they would let me completely change the script, cast, art direction, rating ( pg-13 to R ), & have total control over the use of CGI ( i hate cgi - it should be last resort, used sparingly it's magic. I would make a good Star Wars movie again for everyone, not for them - for you & me.
Unaware that J.J. Abrahms or whatever is doing this movie, now i'm sure it will blow more than a 2 dollar hooker.
MysticStrummer is right on, while most of us want to see great sci-fi movies made from our precious's - our favorite old IP's, it sadly is all over for Star Wars, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, & comic book movies. It's a real shame the fix is so easy to see, make the shetty PG-13 waste for the stupid kids & dumb@ss adults & then make a more vicious - big boy version, rated R - gory & use little to no CGI - only where it should be, make that version of...
Comic Book movies..ahh the pain i feel, i want to love these movies as i love everything about comic books, the smell upon opening the book, the cool as crap characters & powers - the stories of those powers & how they were made or happened. CGI has, imo ruined modern fantasy, sci-fi & comic book movies. Also other IP's i loved growing up Transformers - what trash, have you seen the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer?...someone please murder this man ffs.
& making many mistakes

While i do not share all of your upcoming joy for this...ok we'll call it ah ahem "movie", i share your passion for art, but i can no longer sit & allow what i believe imo to be a grotesque trend - almost disease like an infectious horrible taste in & of movies today. Transformers could have been a real ride you know - all that wonderfull saturday morning animation,..the movie, none of the garbage beyond that though, plenty to chew on from the first universe anyway. The ...
An Austin Powers animated series could be great today, the other two deserved to die however, some real junk.
