Sarah Connor is one of the most badass female characters though, T2 is female empowerment done right, it comes across as natural.
With Disney, always one more. They're seemingly becoming more and more creatively bankrupt, why bother making an effort when you can can just recast popular films with a female and/or take your most beloved movies and turn them into live adaptations.
It's the outrage it creates though I imagine. You are right though but sadly we live in an age of trial by social media. Not sure what football you're referring to here but even in soccer both Neymar and Ronaldo have fallen foul to blackmailers trying to get pay offs from them.
I also find this funny as there was an article in recent days of Disney with Star Wars are partnering with Tencent, they want to distance themselves from this yet happy to accept working with a ...
WTF vague spoilers for most of the part but more than happy to spoil a death. Also from that poster, Kylo looks more like Darth Malak than he does Kylo Ren.
Why would you boycott Spiderman to spite Disney? They'd thank you for it.
Movement was probably started by Disney to deflect criticism. Most experienced movie goers know what Disney is like, just ask Tarantino.
That's disappointing, I'd have been excited to see Blomkamp's take on Robocop especially with Peter Weller returning.
Disney only have themselves to blame. On the bright side though, at least it'll be better than TLJ.. it couldn't be any worse.
Look at some of that darker stuff recently released, they should go in that direction. Maybe I'm wrong but does Power Rangers even have meaning any more? For those of us who remember it fondly, we're going to be over 25. Why not create a more mature thing that makes us want to go see it?
I haven't seen it yet so I guess my opinion doesn't matter much but when Hollywood comes in and does an anime adaptation, these comment sections are usually filled with hate, think Ghost in the Shell. The fact that it's being universally praised speaks leaps and bounds to just how good it must be.
That's great news, the idea of this movie clearly makes it look like it belongs as an R rated movie, if they tried to tone it down to allow younger audiences to go, it just wouldn't be the same.
That Gremlins movie sounds pretty terrible. For starters, a darker Gremlins just wouldn't be Gremlins. Granted if it got with the times it'd have be a little darker but the comedy elements were what made the movie for me. Also why make it a prequel? I get they probably don't want to use Zach Galligan as the main actor but it'd be cool if he at least had a cameo playing the Mogwai expert, extra cool if they got Phoebe Cates to come back too.
Agreed, I couldn't believe that was Ackbar, I'd expect at least one or two scenes with him properly in, he's a better character than half of the ones they used in that movie. Still seems fitting they offed him that way, the whole Disney era of Star Wars could be summed up with "It's a trap" for the big Star Wars fans who see people like him as an iconic character.
Seriously this needs to be looked at. These articles are blatant attempts to use these sites as a means to make some quick $$$$ with referral or whatever they are called nowadays links inserted to ensure the writer gets paid and then they make sure they are clicked enough so they get exposure across all associated sites. "GAME idealist" posting links for movie and anime sites both of which aren't overly popular but get plenty of exposure on n4g
But but do you have a poor internet connection, clearly every issue that isn't a tv with optimal settings means it's your internet connection regardless of your internet speed... right? /s
They're rebooting this? Until proven otherwise, this could be another childhood memory they plan on ruining, I'm still recovering from the craptastic A-Team reboot, worst twist I've ever seen in a movie in that.
Baywatch though has a good cast that could potentially work.. so the same as this movie I guess. I can't unsee this Sonic though, however they've just announced he'll be redone so hopefully the next trailer will look better.
LOL this list was so bad it's obviously a joke one. Film is going to be straight up trash, only real saving grace will be Jim Carrey and that won't be enough to make me pay to see the movie.
Sounds about right... no sequel with the cast of beloved characters but you betcha ass they'll happily do a reboot.
Almost justifies things though, easy way to influence reviews I think a lot of the films you listed though, it's hard to believe they are pushing a political agenda. The rise of feminism in a more mainstream capacity is a more recent thing and many of the films you listed are very memorable for their heroines. Sigourney Weaver is an amazing actress, casting her as the main actress in Aliens was a sound choice and seeing the character development of Ripley over the span of the movies speak...
