UPDATE:
Congratulations to StarWarsFan!

----------------------------- ------------------------------- ----
We have a cool little something for our valued members today, thanks to Etsy artist ClaudiaVarosio:
http://www.etsy.com/shop/Cl...

Claudia has donated us a poster from her inventory of cool movie posters to giveaway to one lucky winner here on Filmwatch. If you're a fan of Mondo style posters, then trust me, you should love these as well. Very nice looking posters here.

Now, all of you want to know how to get your hands on one of these posters I'm sure. It's simple:
Just comment here. Give us some feedback on the site (contests you'd like done, features you'd like added/removed, fun community activities, etc). Or give us ideas of contest prizes you guys and gals would like. That's it.

Everyone that makes a valid comment will be entered into the drawing. At the end, one lucky commenter will be drawn randomly for a 12x18 movie poster of your choice from ClaudiaVarosio:
http://www.etsy.com/shop/Cl...

This will be closed and winner will be drawn on March 12, 2013.

So, let's hear those ideas. And while you're at it, make sure to go check out all the cool posters at Claudia's store on Etsy and maybe even show some appreciation for her contribution by buying one of the cool posters. I'm certain plenty of you will find some you like and would be great additions to your collection. I know I have.

I love that ET poster. that's fantastic. I'd love love love to see more autographed memorabilia given away but not your standard screen cap - I'm talking things like props from movies. Regardless, I love this site and I enjoy coming here to talk with my friends.

Also, I will say that I fully understand the more recent shift to Top 10+ contributors to be in a draw but personally, I won't be working too hard to stay on top of things for those contests.

On a side note, whatever happened to all those things from Comic Con you had planned to use for contests? Was the swag too awesome to part with? =P

I like a bunch of the posters on there but indeed that E.T. one is awesome. I might have to get it since thats the first movie I ever saw in theater.

As for not oushing yourself for top10, I understand. Maybe I'll start a tier thing.

And swag...all I really have anymore is posters which I listed on here some time ago and nobody seemed overly interested (not really any great posters). Other stuff I've already given away on here.

aww well. I must have missed that. S'all good.
=)

Oh also, I think ET was my first movie theater experience too and I just picked it up on Bluray with the original cut.

I'd like to see the inclusion of user reviews on here. Seems like the community is chomping at the bit to post their views on old and new movies they've seen.

There are so many posters that are great but there are a couple that I've always liked. The poster of Big Trouble in Little China with Kurt Russell is so colorful and just pops out at you. I love the movie just because it's so funny and kinda dumb but it's fun to watch. I also like the Serenity poster (of course).

I would like to see more autographed stuff as prizes and also alternate from month to month what the prize will be...not the same thing each time. Movie and season sets are always nice and I know everyone enjoys those as well as the gift cards but adding the autographed memorabillia and maybe electronic gifts too from time to time.

I think it would be fun to do a contest on guessing what would be the number one movie of the month. We know ahead of time what movies come out for that whole month anyway so it would be kind of a challenge because it has surprised me a couple of times what movie has made it and which ones haven't.

I think it would be great to see FilmWatch, if it has the ability to do so, have a chart tracking all upcoming movies to be released in theaters and DVDs/Blu-Rays hitting store shelves. Given the amount of new stuff coming out, this could be a tough one to pull off. I can understand if you don't have the resources.

I think the Blu-rays and gift cards are the best prizes. I think collectibles (statuettes, figurines) could also be an interesting add-on for big summer releases or November to give away just in time for Christmas as a major giveaway.

How about something extra like a caption contest too? Like for the first week of a month, you allow anyone to submit captions to a picture/screenshot you post. Then your side chooses the best 5 or 10 and the last three weeks of the month is left for voting by members of the Filmwatch community for the best one...

And maybe to encourage more fans on Facebook, you can have a simple draw on your FilmWatch Facebook page: each month, one random person from your subscribers on Facebook is eligible to win a free Blu-ray/DVD.

X-Men ‘97 Season 1 Review and Discussion | Episode 64

Marvel’s merry mutants are back in all-new, all-different (not really) animated adventures on Disney Plus. A direct continuation of X-Men: The Animated Series, which ran from 1992 to 1997, X-Men ‘97 features a similar art style and most of the same voice actors from the original. The new series borrows heavily from dozens of X-Men comic books, with some original flourishes sprinkled on top and many events chronologically rearranged. In some ways, the series works as a quick and convenient way to enjoy multiple comic-book arcs in 30 minutes. In others, it feels like a nostalgia play that lacks depth and nuance.

To dissect and discuss the first season of X-Men ‘97, RPadTV host Raymond Padilla enlisted the help of Turtle Beach’s MacLean Marshall and PaulSemel.com’s Paul Semel. This episode will mainly be Mac and Raymond talking about what they liked and disliked about the show, with Paul commenting as the curmudgeon that disliked the first episode so much that he couldn’t stand to watch another.

Raymond and Mac will discuss the plot points, changes, performances, problems, and CliffsNotes-ification of the comics in X-Men ‘97. Paul will chime in and (hopefully) explain how he could make it through the wretched Green Lantern movie, but couldn’t watch a sometimes entertaining X-Men cartoon.
