Deadline Reports:
Lionsgate said today that its remake of Dirty Dancing will get a wide release on July 26, 2013. Deadline broke the news in August that the studio had set Kenny Ortega to direct the period musical drama, a new take on the iconic 1987 film that starred Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey in the 1960s-set story of a girl who summers with her family at an upscale Catskills resort and falls for the dance instructor. Ortega was the choreographer on the original movie. Maria Maggenti is writing the script on the redo, which is being produced by Ortega and Debra Martin Chase. Additionally, Lionsgate said The Possession will open on August 31, 2012, in wide release. It was previously dated on January 6, 2012.
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: This movie doesn't feel anything new or worth remembering, which is a shame.
I sense a bit of a flop.
My god, this laughable at best (nauseating at worst). The first was pretty bad. A remake will probably be infinitely worse.
Hope it's good. <that's what I always say when they're making a remake of a good movie.
Why???? Why do they have to come up with these ideas? Can't they just leave well enough alone? I don't know what's wrong with these people, they don't seem to have any original thoughts anymore.
