Johnny Depp to Become Dr. Seuss for Illumination and Universal

THR: Illumination Entertainment and Infinitum Nihil are developing a live-action movie about the life of classic children's author and illustrator Dr. Seuss (aka Theodor Geisel). Depp will produce the project with the potential to star as Seuss, and Universal Pictures will distribute. Keith Bunin (In Treatment) has been hired to write the screenplay.

I think this could be very interesting with Depp in the title role. He did a good job with Finding Neverland. This could be somewhat the same just a bit...quirkier..?

Yes, I think he could pull this off very easily. He's good at just about anything anyway. I see no problem with this except him having enough time on his hands.

Is there anything this man cant do! He's is like the ONE actor who does something entirely different everytime. I hate how many actors play themselves over and over and over again in different movies, you get so bored of them.

Johnny Depp is the TRUE actor. Although, I would like him to take a darker serious tone as a villain of a film for once, just to shake things up. I mean what's the worst that can happen, him up-staging Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker?
