Kurt Russell to Replace Kevin Costner in Quentin Tarantino's 'Django Unchained'

Heat Vision says:

Kurt Russell is reuniting with Quentin Tarantino for Django Unchained.

Russell is in talks to join the all-star movie, which includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Waltz. He would replace Kevin Costner, who bowed out last week.

The movie is set in the American South of the 1800¹s and follows a freed slave (Foxx) who partners with a German bounty hunter (Waltz) in order to find his wife.

Love Kurt Russell and I really enjoyed his last outing with Tarantino as Stuntman Mike. Hopefully he officially joins!

I really enjoyed that movie as well (Deathproof). I actually preferred it over Planet Terror (which evidently puts me in the minority).

I think Kurt Russell is definitely a better fit in a Tarantino movie than Costner. Helps that they already worked together as well.

I agree with you on liking Death Proof better than Planet Terror. I thought it was miles better, even though Planet Terror was good too.

I really do think Russell is a better fit than Costner.

Kevin Coster being in a Tarantino movie would be like Justin Bieber becoming a member of Rob Zombie's band.

JL4589d ago

lol I don't know if I'd go that far. Maybe more like The Dixie Chicks doing a duet with Tool.

You are in the minority JL =P

I thought that Planet Terror was by far the best part of that project. But, I do like Russell - he's kinda able to portray a harder edge then Costner would be able to do so this is likely a good decision.

I totally agree with JL on this. Kurt Russell is the better choice for a Tarantino film anyway. He will make a good replacement. I still don't exactly know what the movie is going to be about but it really doesn't matter.

I'd love to see more of Kurt Russell. I wish Deathproof had been expanded more to see more of him in action.
