Vulture: Just how do you float a $130 million movie about the end of the world with no movie stars? If you’re Noah director Darren Aronofsky, you try to attach one, ASAP.
Vulture hears that Aronofsky is in talks with Christian Bale about possibly starring in his take on Noah's Ark, to help secure studio backing for it. Presumably, Aronofsky wants Bale for the lead, even though Noah was 600 years old when the Great Flood hit, and Bale is only 37.
On the big screen, numerous Dark Knights flaunted their abs and flexed their muscles for the audience; however, Christian Bale's Batman physique remains the greatest.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is the latest of the rebooted Planet of the Apes series and is a solid movie despite not being on par with the previous movies.
To follow what filmmakers Rupert Wyatt and Matt Reeves did in the last three Planet of the Apes movies is a ballsy move.
As both a Christian and a fan of Aronofsky...I'm very excited for this film.
Hearing about it is a little odd though. Aronofsky wants to direct a film about a story in the Bible? Strange.
I'm glad he's doing this and I think it will give it an interesting and different view. I still believe that you can bring something with religion and open it up thru someone else eyes. He sees things differently and some will like it and some won't.....I myself hope it falls into place.
