Nina Sayers (Natalie Portman – Thor) is the latest ballerina to lead the New York production of Swan Lake. She perfectly embodies the White Swan but is having difficulty embracing the dark duality of the Black Swan. It’s something her director Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel – Adrift) fears she is not capable of doing. The addition of a new dancer named Lily (Mila Kunis – That 70’s Show) and the overbearing hopes of her mother (Barbara Hershey – Beaches) increases the pressure on Nina to get the role right. But this pursuit to perfection could be her ultimate downfall as Nina’s dark side begins to eclipse her soul.
