First off, the Avengers show is based on the Ultimate Marvel Universe timeline instead of the main Marvel Universe one. Whats the Ultimate line in the Comic Books? its a re-imagining of the characters and their origins. An example, in the Ultimate universe Nick Fury is a dark skinned character while in the regular Universe he is light skinned to give you a better understanding.
