Sienna Guillory Back for Resident Evil 5

Coming Soon says:

Sienna Guillory confirmed via a rather funny message that she is returning as Jill Valentine for Screen Gems' Resident Evil 5. She posted the following on her Twitter account:

RE:5 alert! Training begins! I aim to mostly put less in the big hole on the front of my face than comes out of the little one on my arse.

While a director and writer have not been announced, it is expected that Paul W.S. Anderson will again be involved in some capacity. His wife, Milla Jovovich, should again be appearing as Alice.

The studio has set a September 14, 2012 release date for the fifth installment.

Well, at least there will still be something really good to look at in this movie. While I've enjoyed this franchise, I think I'm about done with it. It's not as exciting as it used to be, and I think it's gone as far as it can. They need a little more to it now.

Just like the games, they need to get back to the roots of what makes Resident Evil fun. Zombies Zombies and more Zombies - Time to walk away from all the mutations (except for Tyrants or Nemesis) and super huge guys that swing weapons and look like they belong in Silent Hill. STAY FAR AWAY from the Majini and Las Plagas.

I could do away with the Clone thing too after the next one.

Yeah, NOT sticking with zombies is where the gaming franchise really got off track, and the same goes for these films. They need to go with what made the original story so entertaining.

I'm not opposed to some of the more ridiculous characters, since many of them came from the games (even the big ax guy), but Nemesis was stupid in the second film.

Crazay4801d ago

@DLZ - Nemesis was well portrayed in the 2nd movie and easily the one of if not the greatest enemy in the series purely for the simple fact that he scared the crap out of you and you never knew when or where he was going to jump out at you.

I don't know, I always thought the movie portrayal of him was way too campy. He didn't come off menacing to me, he felt more like a Schumaker Batman villain than anything actually terrifying. I loved him in the games, but not in the movie.

Didnt you guys get the feeling that they are going back to the hardcore roots of it all? I mean they even brought back Chris.

The only issue was they ended up on that ship and things started heading back into the dramatic stages. At first they were taking away her powers and toning everything down, bringing back zombies, and so on. Then suddenly they get on the ship and everything starts going back to what we wanted to stop....

darklordzor4801d ago

True, they did seem to be getting back on track, and then it all went to Hell. Maybe they'll actually go back this time and fix those problems. The series on the whole isn't bad, but it needs to tone a few things down and get back to those roots to really be strong again.

I wonder if they'll introduce Leon in this one
