Under the Radar: 'Trick 'r Treat' is a Real Treat for Halloween

Hollywood: Oct. 31 brings with it not only the close of another month but also my favorite holiday of the entire year. For too long, the mad rush of holiday shopping that immediately follows has overshadowed Christmas’ redheaded step-sibling. I can't help but spit acid on the floor when a department store begins forming aisle after aisle of Christmas decorations near the front doors while the haphazardly tossed-together Halloween section falls into unattended chaos in the very back. Halloween deserves more respect than that, right?

That was a pretty decent movie (I don't like Horror films, so decent to me is as high as it gets). I'm honestly surprised we haven't seen more Halloween articles popping up, though I'm sure this week will ensure that.

I actually really enjoyed this one as well. Wanted to watch it again this Halloween season, unfortunately though I've seemed to have lost my copy. It was a very nice seasonal movie though.

And yea, I'm sure we'll be seeing all kinds of themed articles this week.

darklordzor5177d ago

There are several digital versions of it out there too you could find. I hate when I lose one of my movies though, seriously, if it happens, my wife won't even talk to me for a week. I'm in that bad of a mood.

JL5176d ago

Oh yea I'm sure. If I'm that inclined to see it, I'm sure I can get it. Hell, I'd probably go out and buy it again if I really wanted to see it that bad.

I hate losing movies, but I've done it a lot. I seriously buy TONS of DVDs (like almost a whole wall of my living room is lined with a shelf full of movies). The sad thing, over the course of the years, I've probably lost more movies than anybody I know even buys.

darklordzor5176d ago

Ha! I understand. I like to go out and buy armloads of DVDs and then watch them at my leisure. I love having that collection (though I'm running out of room). I have some archiving software though so I can keep track of it, because having films go missing is hard for me. I have some OCD (not exaggerating) when it comes to my books and movies like that.

JL5176d ago

It still sucks for me, just over all this time I've kinda gotten used to it. A lot in part it's from lending out movies all the time and them getting passed around (I'm like a personal Blockbuster to all my friends seriously), plus being a bit disorganized. Though I've been getting better about keeping a list when lending out movies and such.

I too like to go out and buy armloads of DVDs (take me to a used bookstore type place that sells used DVDs as well and it's over lol), I have a bad habit though (or used to) of not remembering if I own a particular movie so I'd just buy it. Last time I really organized by DVDs I came up with like 10 duplicate movies lol

darklordzor5176d ago

I know a couple people like that too who have massive collections that could easily fill a store. I do loan out my movies to all of my friends, but I use that archiving software I have in order to keep track of where I've loaned everything to.

Soldierone5176d ago

geez Ive lost a few games before, but archiving things haha. I just plain out stopped letting people borrow my things. Very few friends and very few family can borrow anything. Losing Need For Speed hor Persuit still sits on the back of my mind lol.

I noticed Halloween in general hasn't been too big this year. Probably because it falls on a Sunday. I still think it should be changed to the 3rd Friday of every October.

darklordzor5176d ago

You know...that's true. I haven't seen much Halloween talk on any other websites or the TV stations, until this week. Normally they do it up the whole month.

Soldierone5176d ago

It was also on a Friday or Saturday last year i think, its always bigger when its on a night that kids/teens can actually be outside all night.

Soldierone5176d ago

I think the movie was decent, at least a good attempt at a classic Halloween horror show. Not alot of those attempts lately, but with Scream coming back to Hollywood I see these films making a return. And hopefully they are not all sub-par.

darklordzor5176d ago

Yep, I'm on the Scream train with you. I just hope it doesn't blow.

Soldierone5176d ago

Its Scream! It cant blow haha especially with originality coming with it!
