IGN writes: "During my time as a television reviewer for IGN, I've found that, for the most part, shows I've covered fluctuate in quality from week to week - if you graphed them according to number grade, the results would look like a roller-coaster. Community is the one exception. The show started off really slowly, but at about the halfway point of the season (during the holiday episodes, "Introduction to Statistics" and "Comparative Religion"), Community started its upward climb with a string of episodes that routinely made me laugh harder than anything else on NBC's acclaimed Thursday night line-up. To keep with the roller-coaster metaphor, a chart of the season would look like the very first moments of a ride, starting from a dead stop and rising slowly up that initial hill and thankfully ending before the first big plunge".
